Job summary

and focuses on ICD-10 coding accuracy, documentation improvement, and collaboration with physicians and HIM staff. Responsibilities include chart reviews, provider follow-up, escalation when needed, and utilization of CDI tools to document rationale.

Qualifications

• RN license (BSN) or medical degree required.
• 3+ years of clinical medicine, pathophysiology, and pharmacology experience.
• 3+ years of ICD-10 coding experience and familiarity with coding guidelines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Records.

Responsibilities

• Perform concurrent and retrospective chart reviews to improve clinical documentation.
• Stay updated on Medicare rules and ICD-10 coding trends.
• Lead documentation improvement efforts and communicate recommendations clearly.
• Coordinate with providers to obtain necessary documentation specifics.
• Guide and mentor HIM coding professionals and other staff.
