Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Clinical Documentation Improvement leader to advance documentation quality across care settings. You will review charts, apply CDI best practices, and coordinate with physicians to clarify diagnoses and severity of illness.

Role requires RN BSN or medical degree with 3+ years in clinical medicine and coding, plus proficiency with EMR and Microsoft Office. Telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S. is allowed, with an attractive benefits package.

Qualifications

• RN License (BSN required) OR Medical Degree.
• 3+ years of clinical medicine, pathophysiology, and pharmacology experience.
• 3+ years of ICD-10 coding knowledge, conventions, and guidelines.
• Intermediate level of experience with Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Records.

Responsibilities

• Perform concurrent and retrospective chart reviews to improve completeness of clinical documentation.
• Stay updated on Medicare rules and regulations regarding diagnosis coding and CDI trends.
• Utilize ICD-10 to investigate coding issues and produce accurate results.
• Conduct daily follow-up with providers to obtain documentation specificity.
