Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Professional coder certification with AHIMA and/or AAPC (CPC-A, RHIT, RHIA, CCA, CPC, COC, CPC-P, CCS) maintained annually.
• 5+ years of cardiology coding experience with ICD-10 and CPT.
• Proficiency with Windows and MS Excel; EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnostic and procedure codes for outpatient hospital professional accounts according to guidelines.
• Assign CPT and ICD-10 codes to Cardiology and EP services.
• Monitor work queues to ensure timely charging and coding.
• Generate coding queries for documentation clarification as needed.
• Keep up to date with coding changes and conventions.
