Job summary

Optum is seeking a Senior Project Manager for Cardiology Implementation Services with remote work options across the U.S. This role manages complex, multi-team cardiology implementations, translating clinical needs into technical actions and coordinating with clinical, technical, operational and business stakeholders to ensure scope, timelines and outcomes are met.

Qualifications

2+ years of project management in healthcare technology or clinical systems.
2+ years in radiology, cardiology, or medical-imaging workflows.
2+ years using data to support business or project decisions.
Experience managing implementation projects with multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
Leading project planning, status meetings, and customer communications.
Managing risks, issues and changes with leadership and customers.
Translating clinical/operational requirements into technical actions.
Experience using project-management software.
Knowledge of software development, release, deployment, QA processes.
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Ability to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

Lead large, complex cardiology implementation projects with cross-functional teams.
Coordinate multiple workstreams and teams, including teams of teams.
Translate clinical needs into technical actions and communicate with stakeholders.
Develop and maintain implementation plans, schedules, milestones and dependencies.
Lead executive, customer, and planning meetings; manage escalation discussions.
Serve as primary contact for internal and external communications.
Define roles, responsibilities and decision points across groups.
Manage multiple projects with visibility to customers and leadership.
Identify and mitigate project risks, issues and scope changes.
Provide updates, analyses and reporting to leaders and customers.
Coordinate scope adherence, resources and system integration activities.
Maintain proactive, solution-oriented communication across groups.
Adapt to changing scope or priorities with good judgment.
Support software release and deployment activities.
Contribute to process-improvement and PMO initiatives.
Mentor junior project managers where appropriate.
