Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Cardiac Ultrasound Technician to perform inpatient and outpatient cardiac ultrasound tests for physician review, in both the Cardiology department and remotely on patient units. The role requires an associate degree in cardiac sonography or equivalent experience and licensure eligibility within one year.

The position includes chart review, patient interviews for cardiac history, image acquisition, and contribution to preliminary reports for Cardiologists.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Cardiac Sonography or five years of sonographer experience in lieu of degree.
• Six months of directly related experience in an acute care setting.
• RDCS eligibility required within one year of hire; BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs inpatient and outpatient cardiac ultrasound exams as ordered, in Cardiology or remotely with unit-based equipment.
• Reviews chart and collects history prior to exam; interviews outpatient for symptoms and cardiac history.
• Prepares patient positioning, acquires images, and compiles preliminary report for Cardiologist.
• Processes patient billing data and cleans equipment after exams.
