Job summary

Stripe is seeking a strategic Industry Expansion Strategy leader to manage merchant risk and ensure card network compliance worldwide. You’ll work with Sales, Risk, and Compliance teams to catch issues early, design scalable processes, and enable responsible growth across markets.

The role emphasizes navigating ambiguity, aligning risk with business growth, and building strong partnerships with product and executives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in payments/fintech roles focusing on compliance and risk.

Responsibilities

• Own oversight of merchant risk management processes for various payment models.
• Design compliance strategies to support Stripe's global expansion while minimizing downstream risks.
• Embed with Sales and Product to train sellers to identify gaps and position Risk as a business enabler.
• Develop and optimize processes for efficiency and automation; handle non-compliance escalations from partners.
• Conduct research and analysis to assess market position and plan long-term strategic growth.
• Offer multiple solutions and criteria for execution; adapt as products and risks evolve.
