Job summary

Avathon Government is seeking an experienced Capture Team Lead to drive opportunities with the US Navy and other maritime entities from identification through award. You will coordinate with internal teams and external partners to shape winning solutions and build trusted relationships with Navy program offices and industry partners.

The role requires 10+ years in capture or business development within Defense, DoD contracting knowledge, and the ability to travel.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship is required.
• Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Willingness and ability to travel.
• Solid understanding of capture management best practices.
• Experience managing and writing proposals.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Experience leading capture efforts for Defense and Government Sales.
• Extensive knowledge of DoD acquisition processes (DFARS/FAR) and contracting vehicles.
• Secret Security Clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the capture process across the sales lifecycle from identification to award.
• Develop win strategies including customer engagement, solutions development, and competitive assessments.
• Oversee proposal development, scheduling, content creation, and reviews for timely, compliant submissions.
• Build and maintain relationships with potential clients, government orgs, and industry partners.
• Ensure clear communication between capture team, SMEs, and leadership to align goals.
• Track progress and provide regular leadership updates.
