Job summary

NANA Regional Corporation, Inc. is hiring a Remote Kitchen Helper for a 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off rotation in remote Alaska camps. You will assist cooks, prepare and stock food, and maintain sanitation across kitchen and dining areas during 12-hour shifts from Anchorage origin.

Qualifications include a year in a commercial kitchen or related training, Alaska Food Workers Card and/or ServSafe, and ability to work with minimal supervision. English proficiency and dorm housing required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year in a commercial kitchen or related training.
• Alaska Food Workers Card and/or ServSafe Certification required.
• Must pass pre-employment testing (drug, physical, fitness, hearing).
• Must stand for 12 hours per shift.
• English needed (read/write/speak).
• Able to live in dormitory-style housing.
• No supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Assists cooks and coordinates activities within a food service area.
• Prepare food and cook vegetables, entrees, coffee, sauces, meats, etc.
• Maintain products at proper levels in preparation, serving, or storage areas.
• Stock food service areas with products and materials.
• Clean dishes, utensils, pots, pans, etc., and store them orderly.
• Wash objects by hand or with cleaning equipment.
• Clean, sweep, wipe dining/kitchen/storage areas and equipment.
• Assist with large scheduled cleaning projects.
• Remove garbage from areas.
• Set up/break down and clean tables, snack bars, display cases, serving lines.
