Job summary

Wells is seeking a hands-on CAD designer to create and manage 2D/3D molds using AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Revit. You will translate architectural drawings into production-ready molds and coordinate with CNC programming to ensure accuracy across multiple plants.

The role requires strong CAD skills, knowledge of CNC principles, and ability to optimize master mold layouts for efficient production in a precast manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on CAD modeling experience in a manufacturing or precast environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering/architectural drawings.
• Translate drawings into production-ready models and CNC programs.
• Familiarity with CNC programming and machining principles.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and manage 2D/3D molds in CAD tools.
• Interpret drawings to design accurate mold types.
• Organize and optimize master molds for efficient production and pouring.
• Collaborate with multiple plants to adapt models for each job.
• Develop layouts/workflows to maximize efficiency and reduce waste.
• Maintain documentation of design changes and production plans.
• Coordinate with CNC programming team for guidance and support.
• Work with engineering, production, and quality teams for integration of design and manufacturing.
