Job summary

Argo Group is seeking a highly capable Workers' Compensation Claims Adjuster for a temporary assignment with an estimated end date of 2026-10-09. Work from anywhere in the United States, adjudicating CA indemnity claims of higher technical complexity.

Only government mandated benefits are provided; overtime may be required, and timesheets must be submitted per policy. Responsibilities include investigating claims, reporting trends to management, negotiating settlements, and setting reserves.

Qualifications

• Five years or more of CA workers' compensation adjudication experience.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university; substitutions allowed with additional experience or certifications.
• CA SIP designation or WCCA & WCCP designations required.
• Strong business acumen and understanding of insurance profitability.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build lasting relationships.
• Proficiency in MS Office and related software.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Adjudicate CA workers' compensation claims with high technical complexity.
• Investigate claims promptly and thoroughly.
• Report claims trends to senior management and underwriters.
• Negotiate settlements and set reserves appropriately.
• Coordinate resources to assist in case resolution.
• Prepare file documentation and maintain accurate timesheets.
• Ensure cases move toward favorable financial outcomes.
