Job summary

GovCIO is seeking an experienced C#/.NET Application Engineer for a fully remote role within the United States. You will maintain and enhance a SQL Server backed web app, integrate with Active Directory, manage SSIS packages and SQL Server Agent jobs, and ensure robust, secure coding practices.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in computer science with 12+ years of professional experience, strong C# and ASP.NET skills, and extensive SQL Server, AD, and IIS expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering with 12+ years of experience.
• Strong C# and ASP.NET experience.
• Solid T-SQL and SQL Server administration.
• Hands-on SSIS development and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve ASP.NET (MVC/Web API/Web Forms) applications.
• Support SQL Server databases: queries, indexing, performance tuning.
• Update and deploy SSIS packages.
• Manage SQL Server Agent jobs and troubleshoot failures.
• Design, query, and manage relational databases (SQL Server).
• Configure and support AD authentication and IIS settings.
• Troubleshoot issues across the full application stack.
• Collaborate with DBAs, sysadmins, and security teams.
• Maintain documentation and follow secure coding practices.
• Write clean, well-documented code per .NET standards.
• Optimize data models and database architectures for performance.
• Participate in code reviews and promote code quality.
• Stay current with .NET updates and best practices.
