Job summary

GovCIO is seeking an experienced C# / ASP.NET Application Engineer to maintain and enhance a .NET web application backed by SQL Server. The role includes SSIS package management, AD integration, and SQL Server Agent jobs, with a fully remote arrangement within the United States.

The ideal candidate has strong C#/.NET skills, extensive SQL Server and SSIS experience, and hands-on familiarity with IIS, AD, and Git workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or Engineering with extensive experience (12+ years) or commensurate professional experience.
• Strong C# and ASP.NET experience.
• Solid T-SQL skills and SQL Server administration knowledge.
• Hands-on SSIS development and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Active Directory and Windows Authentication; read/write to AD.
• SQL Server Agent job management; IIS administration.
• Git-based development workflow.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance ASP.NET MVC/Web API/Web Forms applications with a SQL Server backend.
• Support SQL Server databases including queries, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Update and deploy SSIS packages; manage SQL Server Agent jobs and troubleshoot failures.
• Design, query, and manage relational databases; write efficient T-SQL and stored procedures.
• Configure and support AD authentication and IIS settings.
• Troubleshoot across the full stack from UI to database; collaborate with DBAs and security teams.
• Maintain documentation and follow secure coding practices; write clean, well-documented code.
