Job summary

National Veterinary Associates is seeking a Business Operations Associate, General Practice to join the Business Operations team reporting to the Senior Director. This remote role supports high-impact projects across finance, operations, and analytics to drive NVA's growth.

Location is remote in the United States; the role requires 2+ years of experience in analytical environments, a Bachelor's degree, strong Excel and PowerPoint, and proficiency with BI tools such as Power BI.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant professional experience, ideally in management consulting, corporate strategy, business operations, finance, or another analytical environment.
• Bachelor’s degree from a top tier university.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Strong business and financial acumen and ability to quickly understand key business drivers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across different audiences and levels of the organization.
• High degree of ownership, intellectual curiosity, and learning agility, with comfort operating in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, including the ability to build relationships across a matrixed organization.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience with business intelligence and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) preferred
• Knowledge of SQL, Python, R, or other analytical tools a plus

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial and operational performance, including P&L, budget/forecast variances, and key business KPIs, to identify performance drivers and improvement opportunities.
• Structure ambiguous business problems, develop hypotheses, conduct analyses, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Build financial and analytical models to evaluate business opportunities, investments, and strategic initiatives.
• Develop management reporting and dashboards that translate complex data into clear insights for senior leadership.
• Support high-priority cross-functional initiatives from opportunity identification through implementation and performance tracking.
• Conduct market research, benchmarking, and stakeholder interviews to inform business decisions.
• Develop executive-ready presentations that clearly communicate insights, recommendations, and decisions required.
• Partner with Operations, Finance, Data & Analytics, and other functional teams to drive alignment and execution.
• Serve as a thought partner to Business Operations leadership and other stakeholders on strategic and operational priorities
