Job summary

MidFirst Bank seeks a Business Development Officer for MidFirst Business Credit to generate and qualify asset-based lending opportunities in TX/OK. You will build a strong referral network, prescreen opportunities, and present financing solutions to qualified borrowers.

Collaborate with underwriting and deal teams, manage an active Salesforce pipeline, and travel about 50% of the time while representing the bank professionally in the marketplace.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 5–10 years in commercial lending with asset-based lending experience preferred.
• Established referral network of lenders, bankers, PE firms, brokers, and industry professionals.
• Disciplined sales process with ability to source, qualify, structure, and advance opportunities.
• Strong financial statement analysis, collateral evaluation, and borrowing base knowledge.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
• Proficiency with CRM tools, with accurate pipeline reporting.
• Ability to work remotely/market-based with travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and expand an active referral source network across lenders, bankers, PE firms, investment bankers, brokers, and industry professionals.
• Generate qualified prospect referrals through outreach and relationship management.
• Interface with prospective borrowers via phone, video, and in-person meetings to collect credit and business information.
• Attend networking events and participate in industry associations to develop opportunities.
• Evaluate deal quality and borrower fit; advise on potential opportunities.
• Prescreen borrowers against loan policy and guidelines.
• Submit, explain, and negotiate financing proposals with qualified borrowers.
• Collaborate with underwriting, portfolio management, credit, legal, and operations to close deals.
• Input sales activities and pipeline data in Salesforce.com with timely records.
• Represent MidFirst Business Credit professionally in all interactions.
