Job summary

MidFirst Business Credit is seeking a results‑driven Business Development Officer to generate and close asset‑based lending opportunities across Texas and Oklahoma.

You will build and maintain a strong referral network, prescreen borrowers against lending guidelines, and coordinate with underwriting and legal teams to drive timely closings.

Travel up to 50% is expected; a Bachelor's degree and 5–10 years in commercial lending are preferred, with proficiency in Salesforce.com.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Five to ten years of relevant business development experience in commercial lending, asset-based lending preferred.
• Established network of referral sources including lenders, bankers, private equity, brokers, and industry professionals.
• Sourcing, qualifying, structuring, and advancing commercial finance opportunities through a disciplined sales process.
• Working knowledge of financial statement analysis, collateral evaluation, borrowing base concepts, and asset-based lending structures.
• Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
• Proficiency with Salesforce.com or similar CRM tools; accurate pipeline and activity reporting.
• Ability to work independently in a remote or market-based environment; travel ~50%.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and expand an active referral source network of lenders, bankers, PE firms, brokers, and industry professionals.
• Generate qualified prospect referrals from contacts, sources, and network relationships.
• Interact with prospective borrowers via phone, video, and in-person meetings to gather credit and financial information.
• Attend networking events and participate in relevant industry associations.
• Evaluate deal quality, identify risks, and advise on opportunities.
• Prescreen borrowers against loan policy and guidelines.
• Submit and negotiate financing proposals with internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with underwriting, portfolio management, credit, legal, and operations to close deals.
• Record sales activities and pipeline updates in Salesforce.com.
• Represent the company professionally in all interactions.
