Job summary

MidFirst Bank's Business Credit division seeks a Business Development Officer to generate, qualify, and close asset-based lending opportunities in Texas and Oklahoma. You will build a strong referral network, identify prospective borrowers, prescreen opportunities, and coordinate with the deal team to tailor financing solutions.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record in commercial lending, excellent relationship management and communication skills, and willingness to travel up to 50%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• 5–10 years of relevant business development experience in commercial lending, asset-based lending preferred.
• Established and effective network of referral sources.
• Proven ability to source, qualify, structure, and advance commercial finance opportunities.
• Working knowledge of financial statement analysis and collateral evaluation.
• Willingness to travel ~50% for meetings and events.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and expand an active referral source network across lenders, bankers, PE firms, and industry professionals.
• Generate qualified prospect referrals through outreach and relationship management.
• Interact with prospective borrowers by phone, video, and in-person meetings to gather credit and financial information.
• Attend networking events and participate in relevant industry associations.
• Prescreen borrowers against loan policy and sales process guidelines; present proposals to management.
