Job summary

MidFirst Business Credit is seeking a Business Development Officer to generate and close asset-based lending opportunities in the Texas and Oklahoma markets. You will manage referral networks, prescreen prospects, and coordinate with internal teams to deliver financing solutions.

The role requires 5–10 years in commercial lending with asset-based experience, strong relationship skills, and willingness to travel up to 50% regionally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 5–10 years of business development in commercial lending, asset-based lending preferred.
• Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
• Working knowledge of financial analysis, collateral evaluation, and lending structures.
• Ability to travel ~50% of time and work in a remote/market-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and expand a referral network with lenders, bankers, PE firms, brokers, and professionals.
• Generate qualified referrals through outreach and relationship management.
• Interact with prospective borrowers via phone, video, and in-person meetings to gather credit and financial data.
• Attend networking events and participate in industry associations (ACG, TMA, SFNet).
• Evaluate deal quality, address risks, and advise on opportunities to management.
• Prescreen borrowers against loan policy and sales guidelines.
• Submit and negotiate financing proposals with internal teams.
• Collaborate with underwriting, credit, legal, and ops to support closing and client experience.
• Update Salesforce.com with activities, leads, and pipeline data accurately.
• Represent the company professionally in all interactions.
