Job summary

MidFirst Bank seeks a Business Development Officer to generate and close asset-based lending opportunities in the Texas and Oklahoma markets. You will build and maintain a strong referral network, prescreen borrowers, and work with internal teams to structure financing solutions.

The role requires 5–10 years in commercial lending, a robust network of deal partners, and ability to travel up to 50%. This is a remote-facing, market-based role with emphasis on disciplined sales execution and credit

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 5–10 years of business development in commercial lending, asset-based lending preferred.
• Established network of lenders, bankers, private equity, brokers, and deal professionals.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and expand a referral source network across banks, private equity, brokers, and industry professionals.
• Generate qualified referrals through proactive outreach and relationship management.
• Interact with prospective borrowers via phone, video, and in-person meetings to qualify opportunities.
• Attend local, regional, and national networking events and engage with industry associations (ACG, TMA, SFNet).
• Evaluate deal quality, identify credit strengths/risks, and advise management on opportunities.
• Prescreen borrowers against loan policy using financials, collateral, and management background.
• Submit, explain, and negotiate financing proposals with internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with underwriting, portfolio management, credit, legal, and ops teams to close deals.
• Log sales activities and pipeline updates in Salesforce.com accurately.
• Represent MidFirst Business Credit professionally in all interactions.
