Job summary

Shahbaz & Associates CPAs PLLC is seeking a Business Development Manager in the Richmond, VA area (remote with regular in-person meetings) to grow the client base and build a regional presence. You will manage a full sales cycle, develop a referral network, and collaborate with tax and advisory teams to close deals.

Qualified candidates have 3+ years in business development or sales within professional services, an established Richmond network, and a proven track record of meeting revenue

Qualifications

• 3+ years of business development or sales experience, preferably in professional services (accounting, legal, financial services, banking or wealth management)
• An established network in the Richmond business community
• A track record of meeting or beating revenue targets
• Confidence holding business conversations with owners, executives and high-net-worth individuals
• A self-starter who can build a territory from the ground up
• Strong communication, presentation and relationship-building skills
• Experience with CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce)
• Based in or near Richmond, VA, with reliable transportation for local meetings

Responsibilities

• Find and bring in new clients across our target segments: real estate investors and developers, high-net-worth individuals and families, closely held businesses, private equity–backed companies and manufacturers
• Build a referral network of attorneys, wealth advisors, bankers, real estate brokers and other professionals in the Richmond area
• Represent the firm at networking events, industry associations, chambers of commerce and community events
• Manage the full sales cycle: prospecting, discovery calls, coordinating proposals with our tax and advisory team, and closing
• Keep the CRM accurate and report on your pipeline and lead quality
• Work with our marketing team on seminars, events and campaigns aimed at the Richmond market
• Hand new clients off smoothly to the service team and stay in touch with them to spot expansion opportunities
