Job summary

Vaisala, a global leader in measurement instruments, seeks a Business Development Manager for data center power to drive growth in North America. This fully remote role allows up to 50% travel within the U.S.

and collaborates with Power and Industrial sales teams. You will develop sales strategies, target data center operators and hyperscalers, build executive relationships, deliver compelling proposals, and lead cross-functional collaboration to ensure customer success and repeat business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field.
• Master's or MBA preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in electrical utility or commercial infrastructure with BD & sales.
• Experience with utilities, data center operators, EPCs, or power equipment manufacturers.
• Knowledge of power transformers, switchgear, and facility reliability.
• Experience selling precision instrumentation or condition-monitoring solutions; global account management a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sales strategies to meet revenue targets.
• Identify, target and acquire new clients among data center operators, hyperscalers, and utilities/EPCs.
• Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
• Lead the full sales cycle from initial contact to negotiation and closure.
• Attend industry events to promote Vaisala products and services.
• Collaborate with product management, regional marketing, and customer support to align BD activities.
• Monitor and report on sales metrics and pipeline status.
