Job summary

Thimble Alterations is seeking skilled alterations professionals to work with bridal and formalwear on a flexible, independent contractor basis. You’ll modify wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother-of-the-bride/groom silhouettes, ensuring precise measurements and timely communication.

You'll conduct fittings, perform hems, zippers, beading adjustments, and maintain an organized workspace for clients.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with bridal and/or women's formalwear alterations.
• Strong garment construction knowledge + precision measuring.
• Machine + hand sewing proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Alter wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses (hemming, bustle, bodice/waist, straps, cups, zippers).
• Work with structured bridal gowns (multiple layers, lace, beading, linings, boning/tulle).
• Conduct fittings, take precise measurements, and communicate timelines clearly.
• Deliver high-quality finishing and maintain an organized workspace suitable for fittings.
• We also receive requests for prom dresses, evening gowns, cocktail dresses, suits, and other formalwear
