Job summary

Thimble Alterations is seeking an experienced bridal seamstress to work one-on-one with brides through the entire alteration process. This independent contractor role will use a platform to receive bookings, set your schedule and rates within guidelines, and get paid after each completed job.

You will conduct fittings, tailor gowns, and create bustles while managing alterations for bridesmaids and mother-of-the-bride attire as needed.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated bridal alteration experience (portfolio or references welcomed).
• Ability to conduct first, second, and final fittings with brides for wedding gowns.
• Strong customer-facing presence and calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Conduct first, second, and final fittings with brides for their wedding gowns.
• Customize gowns for each bride: hemming, side seams, bodice shaping, neckline adjustments, sleeve modifications.
• Create bustles tailored to the dress design and the bride's preference.
• Handle bridals party attire alongside the main gown.
• Explain timelines and expectations for the day of the appointment.
