Job summary

Thimble Alterations is seeking independent professionals to join its network for bridal and formalwear alterations. You’ll handle gowns, bridesmaid, and mother-of-the-bride/groom alterations, including hemming, bustles, and zippers, with precise measurements and clear timelines.

You will receive local client requests through the platform, choose jobs that fit your schedule, work from home as an independent contractor, and have the opportunity to grow repeat clients and reviews via your profile.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with bridal and/or women's formalwear alterations.
• Strong garment construction knowledge and precise measuring.
• Machine sewing and hand sewing proficiency.
• Professional communication and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Alter wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses (hemming, bustle, bodice/waist, straps, cups, zippers).
• Work with structured bridal gowns (multiple layers, lace, beading, linings, boning/tulle).
• Conduct fittings, take precise measurements, and communicate timelines clearly.
• Deliver high-quality finishing and maintain an organized workspace suitable for fittings.
• Receive requests for prom dresses, evening gowns, cocktail dresses, suits, and other formalwear.
