Thimble Alterations, a network of independent alteration professionals, is seeking skilled bridal and formalwear specialists who can work from home.

You will alter wedding gowns, bridesmaid and mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses, take precise measurements, and provide clear timelines and quality finishing.

This flexible contractor role connects you with local client requests through the platform and supports growing repeat clients and reviews on your profile.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with bridal and/or women's formalwear alterations.
• Strong garment construction knowledge + precision measuring.
• Machine + hand sewing proficiency.
• Professional communication and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Alter wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses (hemming, bustle, bodice/waist, straps, cups, zippers).
• Work with structured bridal gowns (multiple layers, lace, beading, linings, boning/tulle).
• Conduct fittings, take precise measurements, and communicate timelines clearly.
• Deliver high-quality finishing and maintain an organized workspace suitable for fittings.
