Job summary

Thimble Alterations is seeking independent contractors in the United States to perform bridal and formalwear alterations. You will alter wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses, conduct fittings, and provide clear timelines with precision measurements.

You will work from home as an independent contractor, receiving local client requests through the platform and choosing jobs that fit your schedule.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with bridal and/or women\'s formalwear alterations.
• Strong garment construction knowledge and precise measuring.
• Machine and hand sewing proficiency.
• Professional communication and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Alter wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses (hemming, bustle, bodice/waist, straps, cups, zippers).
• Work with structured bridal gowns (multiple layers, lace, beading, linings, boning/tulle).
• Conduct fittings, take precise measurements, and communicate timelines clearly.
• Deliver high-quality finishing and maintain an organized workspace suitable for fittings.
• Receive requests for prom dresses, evening gowns, cocktail dresses, suits, and other formalwear.
