Job summary

Thimble Alterations LLC is seeking a skilled alterations contractor to tailor bridal and formalwear from home. You will perform fittings, precise measurements, and precise finishing while maintaining a clean, organized workspace suitable for client sessions.

The role supports brides, bridesmaids, and other formalwear clients, with opportunities to grow repeat business and build online reviews through your profile. Flexible scheduling and remote work are offered.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with bridal and/or women's formalwear alterations.
• Strong garment construction knowledge with precise measuring.
• Proficient in machine and hand sewing.
• Excellent professional communication and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Alter wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses (hemming, bustle, bodice/waist, straps, cups, zippers).
• Work with structured bridal gowns (multiple layers, lace, beading, linings, boning/tulle).
• Conduct fittings, take precise measurements, and communicate timelines clearly.
• Deliver high-quality finishing and maintain an organized workspace suitable for fittings.
• We also receive requests for prom dresses, evening gowns, cocktail dresses, suits, and other formalwear.
