Job summary

NMS is hiring a Remote Breakfast Cook/Baker to support the Milne Point Camp on the North Slope. The role involves preparing a wide variety of foods and bakery items, directing kitchen staff, producing meals, and maintaining sanitation in a remote camp environment.

This 3-week on/3-week off rotation requires physical stamina and strong teamwork. The position demands experience in high-volume cooking or baking, ability to train others, and compliance with safety and health certifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3+ years in high-volume restaurant cooking or bakery work.
• Ability to train and lead others.
• Alaska Food Workers Card and/or ServSafe certification required.
• Pass pre-employment tests and health screenings.
• Team player with ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to stand 12 hours per shift.
• Accommodation in dormitory-style housing on remote camps.
• English language proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Perform main line food production duties per shift.
• Prepare bakery products in remote camp.
• Complete pastry prep: mixing, baking, frying.
• Review daily needs with supervisors; complete production sheets.
• Assist with menu and recipe development.
• Monitor and rotate production items; ensure supplies.
• Cook meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
• Sanitize and clean preparation areas and equipment.
• Ensure serving lines are stocked and cleaned.
• Communicate meal needs with supervisors.
• Oversee staff and ensure quality control.
• Travel to remote camps as required.
