Qualifications

• BA/BS with 5+ years or MS with 2+ years or PhD with relevant industry experience.
• Background in pharmacology, biochemistry, molecular biology or chemical biology in biotech/pharma/CRO.
• Hands-on experience with SPR, TR-FRET, radioligand binding or related assays.
• Ability to interpret IC50, Ki and Kd data.
• Currently bench-based in a research or scientist role.
• Working knowledge of UniProt and related workflows (SAR, HTS, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Review primary research papers and patents to verify protein target assignments.
• Compare target assignments against UniProt and identify discrepancies.
• Classify target assignment errors using a structured taxonomy.
• Propose accurate UniProt accessions where assignments are incorrect.
• Document clear, concise, evidence-grounded reasoning for each determination.
• Apply pharmacology, biochemistry, molecular biology or chemical biology expertise to evaluate target relationships.
