Charter Impact is a remote-first organization helping mission-driven groups manage finance and operations. The Accounts Payable Associate role emphasizes accuracy, timely invoice processing, vendor setup, and reporting, helping clients navigate complex AP tasks.

The position is remote to candidates nationwide in the United States, with an hourly pay of $20.00–$23.00 and an opportunity for an annual discretionary bonus. A laptop and equipment are provided.

Qualifications

• Two years of related experience or a bachelors degree in business or accounting.
• Accounts payable experience preferred.
• Knowledge of financial record-keeping and accrual accounting principles.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience with Sage Intacct or similar non-profit accounting systems is a plus.
• Strong English usage and grammar.
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations accurately and prepare financial reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform accounts payable duties with accuracy and timeliness.
• Verify cash availability and perform payment selections.
• Code invoices to correct general ledger accounts for multiple entities.
• Generate accounts payable aging reports for clients.
• Notify clients of vendor discrepancies and ensure follow-ups.
• Resolve inquiries and discrepancies from clients via email and phone.
• Generate use tax reports and assist with audit schedules.
• Support process improvements and leverage industry developments.
