Job summary

EK Health Services Inc. seeks a Bill Review Team Lead to guide BR staff, coach, and uphold high performance in daily operations. This full-time, exempt role is remote Monday–Friday, starting 7am-4pm with PST training as needed.

You will analyze complex medical bills, apply UCR, contracts, coding guidelines, and state regulations, and provide timely feedback while collaborating with management to resolve client issues.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in complex Workers' Compensation Bill Review with customer service exposure.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT codes, and DRG.
• CPC coursework or certification a big plus.
• Experience supervising staff members.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret procedures, medical reports, state laws and fee schedules.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily inventory.
• Monitor, manage, and assign work/tasks to all bill review staff (regardless of role).
• Provide consistent, but no less than monthly/yearly performance feedback to all bill review staff.
• Assist Bill review staff with questions.
• Analyze complex medical bills and make payment recommendations based on claim history, medical notes, UCR, regulations, contracts, coding guidelines, client instructions, and policies.
• Maintain knowledge of client workflows/protocols.
• Work with management on resolution of client rejection files.
• Handle client inquiry email box.
• Participate in QA from initial receipt of bills through final payment.
• Communicate with medical providers to obtain needed information and resolve issues.
• Respond to issues and drive quick resolution.
• Participate in ongoing training to enhance skills.
• Maintain knowledge of Ahshay and Billtelligent.
• Lead by example and support all levels of the organization.
• Other duties as assigned.
