Job summary

Ek Health Services Inc. is seeking a Bill Review Specialist for a remote, full-time role in the United States. Work hours are Monday–Friday, 7am–4pm local time, with duties in medical bill analysis, coding verification, and client communication.

The role requires at least a high school diploma and 2+ years in complex bill review, CPC coursework a plus. Benefits include health insurance, 401K, PTO, holidays, and equipment provided.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT codes and DRG.
• 2+ years of experience in complex workers' compensation bill review with customer service exposure.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, medical reports, state laws and fee schedules.
• Hospital Bill Review experience a plus.
• CPC coursework or certification a big plus.
• Excellent written and oral communication & interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• High comfort level with computers and programs (MS Word, MS Excel, Email).
• Ability to meet deadlines in a high pressure, time sensitive environment.
• Ability to lift to 20 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Accurately analyze complex medical bills and make payment recommendations based on claim history, UCR, regulations, contracts, coding guidelines and client policies.
• Review and verify correct use of medical billing codes and report improper use to BR Manager.
• Participate in QA process from receipt to final payment.
• Protect system integrity by monitoring and correcting duplications and outdated data.
• Communicate with medical providers to obtain information and resolve bill-specific issues.
• Communicate with clients, providing excellent customer service.
• Participate in ongoing training to enhance job skills and knowledge.
• Other duties as assigned.
