Job summary

NAMI San Diego & Imperial Counties is seeking a Warmline Bilingual Peer Support Specialist to join a remote, part-time team. The role supports crisis prevention by handling calls, voicemails, and data entry, while connecting callers with resources and the Access and Crisis Line when needed.

Fluency in Spanish and English is required, and you will mentor peers as part of a compassionate, recovery-oriented service.

Qualifications

• Spanish/English bilingual fluent in both languages.
• Must reside in California for this remote position.
• Active Peer Support Specialist certification.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to connect with peers using active listening and problem-solving.
• Proficient with technology and able to manage boundaries.
• Able to work well in a team and handle diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Answer live phone calls using the peer-support approach.
• Promptly respond to voicemails left on the Warmline.
• Collect and enter demographic and call information accurately into the database.
• Provide appropriate resources and refer callers to the Access and Crisis Line when needed.
• Use recovery language and trauma-informed care in interactions.
• Mentor and role-model for new peers and volunteers.
• Participate in regularly scheduled team meetings and trainings.
• Other duties as assigned.
