Job summary

HireHawk is recruiting on behalf of a U.S.-based employment law firm for an Accounting Specialist. This remote, full-time role focuses on accurate bookkeeping, reconciliations, and month-end support using QuickBooks and Excel.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and hands-on experience with IOLTA/trust accounts in a U.S. law firm, plus bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or completed coursework.
• Experience in a U.S. law firm with IOLTA accounts.
• Hands-on accounting or bookkeeping experience in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete and accurate financial records across IOLTA and business operating accounts.
• Protect client funds by processing trust transactions accurately and keeping IOLTA records current.
• Reconcile bank, trust, and operating records; investigate discrepancies and resolve them promptly.
• Process deposits, disbursements, transfers, invoices, expenses and other financial transactions with supporting documentation.
• Keep QuickBooks organized and up to date for reliable financial information.
• Prepare recurring financial, reconciliation, and transaction reports using QuickBooks and Excel.
• Support month-end activities by reviewing balances and completing reconciliations.
• Communicate clearly with legal and operations teams for information, approvals, or corrections.
• Identify unusual activity or missing documentation and raise issues proactively.
• Maintain strict confidentiality when handling client funds and sensitive data.
