Job summary

Apex Systems is seeking a Benefits Specialist to support end-to-end compliance and administration of employee retirement plans for a large healthcare client. The role covers regulatory filings, plan documentation, and audit support while ensuring adherence to ERISA and DOL standards.

The candidate will analyze complex pension documents, manage communications, and collaborate with legal counsel across a fully remote role in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Seven years of experience in defined benefit pension plan administration required.
• Proficient in Excel (lookups, pivot tables, database analysis).
• Experience with Oracle or HCM database systems is required.

Responsibilities

• Review defined benefit claims and draft determinations.
• Review communications to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Assist with Form 5500 filings and schedules.
• Support pension restatements and regulatory changes.
• Analyze data from auditors, actuaries, and TPAs.
• Interpret pension plan documents and eligibility provisions.
