This role focuses on ensuring legal, reporting, testing, documentation, and disclosure requirements are met for governmental agencies. The successful candidate will manage plan documentation, identify and remediate compliance issues, and support audit and third-party inquiries.Key Responsibilities* Review defined benefit claims and draft formal determination letters.* Review employee communications, including Summary Plan Descriptions and Summary of Material Modifications, to ensure regulatory compliance.* Assist with regulatory filings, including Form 5500 and associated schedules.* Support pension plan restatements and verify compliance with changing regulatory standards.* Prepare and analyze large datasets from plan auditors, actuaries, and third-party administrators.* Interpret complex pension plan documents, including eligibility provisions and collective bargaining agreements.* Investigate compliance errors, perform deep-dive research, and present findings to leadership.Required Qualifications**Education:** Bachelor's degree is required.**Experience:** Minimum of seven years of experience in defined benefit pension plan administration. Proven experience reviewing pension claims, drafting appeals, and partnering with legal counsel is essential.**Technical Skills:** Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel, including lookups, pivot tables, and database analysis.
