Job summary

RCR Consulting seeks an experienced Benefits Consultant to join our fully remote team, owning the full lifecycle of benefits and 401(k) administration for small and mid-sized employers. The role blends hands-on plan administration with consultative guidance on design, implementation, and ongoing operations. The Schedule is part-time with core hours 9:30 a.m.

to 2:30 p.m. Eastern; remaining hours are flexible to fit life.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive benefits administration experience, especially in brokerage or PEO environments.
• Hands-on experience with health, welfare, and 401(k) plans for small/mid-sized employers.
• Strong client-facing consulting background and ability to translate plan design into action.
• Familiarity with HRIS and payroll platforms (Paycom, Gusto, Paylocity, BambooHR).
• Knowledge of ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and COBRA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day benefits administration across multi-client groups.
• Lead annual open enrollment from strategy to post-enrollment audits.
• Coordinate enrollments, qualifying events, and terminations with carriers and payroll.
• Reconcile invoices and resolve eligibility, billing, and claims issues.
• Prepare plan documents, SPDs, SBCs, and compliance notices.
• Support plan design changes and fiduciary best practices with plan advisors.
