Job summary

RCR Consulting Group, LLC is seeking an experienced Benefits Consultant to own end-to-end benefits and 401(k) administration for small and mid-sized employers in a fully remote, part-time role.

The ideal candidate has a brokerage/consulting background and will handle enrollment, billing, carrier coordination, and client-facing guidance from design through execution, with flexible hours and strong emphasis on compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive benefits administration experience, with at least 2 years in a brokerage, benefits consulting firm, or PEO/HR outsourcing environment.
• Hands-on experience administering both health & welfare and 401(k) plans for small and mid-sized employers.
• Strong client-facing consulting experience with multi-client HR support.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day benefits administration across medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA/HSA, and COBRA programs for multiple client groups.
• Lead annual open enrollment from strategy through post-enrollment audits.
• Process enrollments, qualify life events, and terminations; coordinate with carriers, payroll, and HRIS.
• Reconcile carrier invoices; resolve eligibility, billing, and claims escalations.
• Maintain plan documents, SPDs, SBCs, and compliance notices.
• Administer 401(k) plans including enrollments, contributions, loans, distributions, and rollovers.
• Coordinate payroll-to-recordkeeper data flows; reconcile contributions across Guideline, Paycom, Gusto, Paylocity.
• Support plan audits, year-end compliance testing, Form 5500 filings, and disclosures.
• Partner with plan advisors and recordkeepers on design changes and fiduciary practices.
