Job summary

HealthFund Solutions is seeking a Benefits Specialist to design, administer, and continuously improve our employee benefits programs in New York. You will oversee health, dental, vision, retirement plans, leave benefits, wellness initiatives, and vendor relationships, ensuring accurate enrollment and reporting.

You will lead open enrollment, educate employees on plan options, coordinate COBRA, ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and other regulations, and work with brokers and HRIS vendors

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years in benefits administration.
• Experience administering level-funded and self-funded health plans.
• Proficiency with HRIS and benefits administration software.

Responsibilities

• Manage health, dental, vision, retirement (401(k), life insurance, disability, and other benefits).
• Oversee open enrollment and COBRA coordination; process enrollments, updates, and terminations.
• Ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, HIPAA, ADA, and related regulations.
• Educate employees on benefits options and eligibility; respond to inquiries.
• Collaborate with insurance providers, brokers, and HRIS vendors to ensure seamless administration.
• Process and resolve employee claims, invoices, and billing discrepancies with broker/carrier.
• Audit benefit data, reconcile payroll deductions, and prepare reports on usage and trends.
• Administer FMLA, ADA, USERRA, and other leave policies; support wellness initiatives.
