Job summary

Maximus seeks a Behavioral Health Technician to provide behavioral healthcare, counseling, case management, and clinical support for SOF personnel and families. The role strengthens readiness by addressing military life challenges and collaborating with interdisciplinary care teams, with opportunities to engage in research and quality improvement.

U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance or eligibility are required; the position is contingent on contract award.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience.
• Current LCSW or LMSW license in state of practice.
• Minimum two years related mental health experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of employees through cultivation of a high performance team.
• Ensure adequate staff coverage for assigned program area.
• Serve as subject matter expert for identified area of program knowledge.
• Ensure assigned team is meeting contract and SLA's, and related requirements.
• Work with contract management and shared services to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiencies.
• May attend client and stakeholder meetings.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Attend and participate in meetings during normal duty hours, professional staff conferences and quality improvement meetings.
• Conduct USSOCOM/POTFF-approved applied research and clinical investigations at clinical/behavioral health levels.
• Apply professional practice procedures including interviewing, behavioral assessment, and evidence-based therapies.
• Provide individual, family, group, and couples therapy, as well as alcohol and drug treatment evaluations.
• Consult with medical personnel, legal authorities, military commanders, and school districts.
• Participate in military-specific training and security clearance requirements.
• Contact referred clients to assess treatment adherence.
• Use validated symptom inventories to assess current symptom severity.
• Assess barriers to treatment adherence and help clients problem-solve.
