Job summary

Cambia Health in Spokane, WA, seeks an Associate Medical Director BH/UM to provide leadership for behavioral health utilization management across lines of business. Part-time, remote role with responsibilities in policy development, clinical oversight and collaboration with providers to improve access and outcomes.

Ideal candidates hold an MD/DO with board certification in psychiatry and a current, unrestricted license; minimum 3 years in clinical practice and UM/case management preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed physician with an MD or DO degree.
• Active, unrestricted medical license in one or more states.
• Board certification in general psychiatry or child psychiatry.
• Experience with utilization management and case reviews.
• Minimum 3 years clinical experience.
• Ability to work in one of the four states (WA, OR, ID, UT).

Responsibilities

• Completes Behavioral Health utilization management reviews, including PA, appeals and post-service.
• Develops and implements Behavioral Health policies and programs and leads related plans and objectives.
• Oversees operational policies for an integrated behavioral health program and monitors utilization.
• Acts as subject matter expert in behavioral health and provides leadership to staff.
• Collaborates with executives and providers to promote utilization management and quality improvement.
• Keeps abreast of industry trends and opportunities to reduce medical cost and improve outcomes.
• Other roles as assigned.
