Job summary

Cambia Health is seeking an Associate Medical Director for Behavioral Health and Utilization Management to provide clinical leadership across behavioral health operations. This part-time role focuses on case reviews, policy development, and operational oversight for a national health plan.

Ideal candidate holds an MD/DO with unrestricted license in OR/WA/ID/UT, board-certified in psychiatry, and has 3+ years in clinical and utilization/case management roles.

Qualifications

• Licensed physician (MD or DO) with active, unrestricted license in at least one of the four states (OR, WA, ID, UT).
• Board certification in general psychiatry or child psychiatry; dual board certification preferred.
• Minimum 3 years clinical experience; 2 years in health plan medical utilization/case management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform behavioral health utilization management reviews including pre-authorization, appeals, and post-service review.
• Develop and implement Behavioral Health policies and programs; provide leadership for short- and long-range plans.
• Oversee operational policies and standards for integrated behavioral health, monitor utilization and outcomes.
• Serve as subject matter expert on behavioral health; advise staff and ensure safe, effective, cost-efficient services.
• Collaborate with executives and providers to promote understanding of utilization management and quality improvement.
