Cambia Health is seeking an Associate Medical Director BH or Utilization Management Medical Director to lead behavioral health utilization management across lines of business. This role focuses on policy development, program leadership, and clinical oversight, with collaboration across leaders and staff to improve outcomes.

Remote work options are available in Oregon, Washington, Idaho or Utah; preference given to Idaho/Utah residents and current employees.

Qualifications

• Licensed physician with an MD or DO degree.
• Active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in one or more of our 4 states.
• Board Certification in general psychiatry or child psychiatry; preferred to be board certified in both.
• At least 3 years of clinical experience.
• Two years in health plan medical utilization management and/or case management.
• Location in one of our four states.

Responsibilities

• Completes Behavioral Health utilization management reviews, including PA, appeals and post-service.
• Develops and implements Behavioral Health policies and programs and leads in short/long-range plans.
• Oversees operational policies, procedures, and standards for an integrated behavioral health program.
• Acts as subject matter expert on behavioral health and provides medical oversight for staff.
• Collaborates with executives and providers to promote utilization management and quality improvement.
• Stays abreast of industry trends and opportunities to reduce medical cost trends.

Education

MD or DO degree

Active, unrestricted medical license

Board Certification in general psychiatry or child psychiatry

3+ years clinical experience

2 years health plan medical utilization management/case management experience

Must be located in one of four states
