Job summary

Elevance Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Care Manager I to oversee outcomes for psychiatric and substance use care, primarily in a provider-facing role with some member interaction. The position supports telephonic and written reviews to ensure appropriate levels of care.

The ideal candidate holds a related advanced degree (MA/MS or nursing) and an active license (RN, LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, LPC, LMFT, or Psychologist). Remote work with occasional in-person onboarding is expected.

Qualifications

• Requires MA/MS in social work, counseling or related behavioral health field, or nursing degree.
• Current active unrestricted license (RN, LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, LPC, LMFT, or Psychologist) to practice in applicable states.
• Licensure is required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Assess member needs using screening criteria and clinical judgment to ensure access to medically necessary behavioral healthcare.
• Refer cases to Peer Reviewers as appropriate.
• Coordinate and monitor psychiatric and substance use disorder treatment to promote quality outcomes and optimize benefits.
