The Elevance Health Companies, Inc. is seeking a Behavioral Health Care Manager I who can work virtually full-time with required in-person training sessions.

The role supports access to medically necessary behavioral health care while promoting work‑life balance and flexible scheduling. Responsibilities include clinical assessment, referrals to Peer Reviewers, and coordinating psychiatric/substance abuse services to optimize member health benefits.

Qualifications

• Requires MA/MS in social work, counseling, or related behavioral health field, or nursing degree with at least 3 years of experience in psychiatric/substance abuse treatment.
• Current active unrestricted license (RN, LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, LMFT, LPC, LMHP, or Clinical Psychologist) to practice in applicable states or territories.
• Licensure is a requirement for this position.
• BCBA acceptable in states that do not require licensure if UM approvals only and licensed staff supervision is present.

Responsibilities

• Assess member needs using screening criteria and clinical judgment to ensure access to medically necessary behavioral healthcare.
• Refer cases to Peer Reviewers as appropriate.
• Coordinate and monitor psychiatric and substance abuse treatment to promote quality outcomes and efficient use of health benefits.
