Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Safety Technician to provide bedside patient care and maintain constant observation for at-risk patients. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Remains at bedside of assigned patient at all times unless relieved by an appropriate staff member.
• Provides calming and reorienting conversation with patient in cases of agitation or confusion.
• Identifies and removes hazards from the patient and patient’s environment, and reports as appropriate.
• May assist patient with activities of daily living as delegated by supervising RN, including ambulating, toileting, bed making, and positioning.
• Provides continuous safety observation via video monitoring for patients at risk of injury, including comfort measures and de-escalation techniques.
• Remotely monitors multiple patients via continuous video monitoring and summons staff when appropriate.
