Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Safety Technician for the CDH Resource Team on the nights shift. The role requires staying with patients at bedside, providing calming interaction, and identifying hazards to ensure safety under supervision.

Responsibilities include continuous safety monitoring, assisting with activities of daily living as directed, and remote observation of multiple patients via video monitoring. A High School Diploma and BLS within 90 days are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire is required.

Responsibilities

• Remains at bedside of assigned patient at all times unless relieved by an appropriate staff member.
• Provides calming and reorienting conversation with patient in cases of agitation or confusion.
• Identifies and removes hazards from the patient and environment, reporting as appropriate.
• May assist patient with activities of daily living as delegated by supervising RN (ambulating, toileting, bed making, positioning).
• Provides continuous safety observation via video monitoring for at-risk patients.
• Remotely monitors multiple patients via continuous video monitoring and coordinates with staff as needed.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire
