Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Huntley, IL seeks a Patient Safety Technician to monitor at bedside, provide calming interaction, identify hazards, assist with daily living tasks as delegated, and ensure patient safety through constant observation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Remains at bedside of assigned patient at all times.
• Provides calming conversation with patient to reorient when agitated or confused.
• Identifies and removes hazards from the patient environment and reports findings as appropriate.
• May assist patient with activities of daily living as delegated by supervising RN, including ambulating and bed making.
• Provides continuous safety observation via video monitoring, with de-escalation and emotional support.
• Remotely monitors multiple patients via video monitoring and summons staff via alarm when necessary.
