Job summary

Mercury Marine is seeking a Business Development Manager to grow the independent boatbuilder network across the United States and oversee Mercury Racing sales nationwide. You will coach partners to increase sales, market share, and profitability across OEM and Racing lines.

Based in a remote role with frequent overnight travel (50%), you will develop territory strategies, manage forecasts, and deliver compelling product value to OEMs and high-performance customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing, or equivalent.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in Marine, Recreational, or Sales/Marketing.
• Strong verbal and written communication; cross-functional collaboration.
• Proficient with MS Office and CRM; valid driver’s license; able to travel 50%+.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with Mercury Marine independent boat builder partners in the assigned territory.
• Drive growth of OEM and Mercury Racing business nationwide; align with sales, market share and profitability goals.
• Lead development and execution of territory OEM strategies and national Mercury Racing sales strategies.
• Serve as the primary commercial lead for Mercury Racing sales across the U.S.; manage pipelines and opportunities.
• Develop and manage accurate sales forecasts for Mercury Racing; include financial projections and demand planning.
• Collaborate with engineering, service, marketing, supply chain and other internal teams to meet business objectives.
• Represent Mercury Marine at boat shows, racing events, dealer meetings and customer open houses; weekend participation may occur.
• Travel frequently within the territory and nationally to support Racing initiatives (minimum 50% overnight).
• Coach and support boatbuilder partners to identify high-performance and Racing product opportunities.
