Job summary

Gainwell Technologies seeks a Batch Developer (UNIX/C/SQL) to join our healthcare technology team. You will develop and maintain batch programs used by millions, while growing professionally through our technical academies and educational support.

You will work remotely within the United States with some on-call production support and occasional travel. This role emphasizes independent contribution and collaborative teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of applications development and batch programming using Unix, Linux, C and SQL (Oracle or other database).
• Experience with Claims, Pharmacy POS, EDI and/or NCPDP is highly desired.
• Experience with the full software development life cycle.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills for design, creation and testing.
• Ability to work as an independent contributor and as a team leader.

Responsibilities

• Codes, tests, debugs, implements, and documents programs; modifies products to meet client needs.
• Gathers information, analyzes requirements, and prepares documentation.
• Researches and analyzes existing systems and requirements under supervision.
• Designs programs for projects or enhancements; writes specifications.
• Assists in production support; develops alternatives to resolve problems.
• Develops test plans and verifies logic for new or modified programs.
• Documents code and technical details; conducts quality assurance reviews.
• Keeps current with industry trends and technologies.
