Job summary

Smart Buildings Academy seeks an experienced instructor to design and deliver core BAS/IT/Electrical/HVAC courses entirely remotely. You will master our core topics, teach via web-based sessions, and collaborate with the CEO, sales, and instructional teams to craft top-tier learning experiences.

The role emphasizes content production (60%) and student instruction (40%), with travel up to 5% for events. We offer competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits for a remote work environment.

Qualifications

• Instructor Experience: 2+ years in private or public sector with lesson plans and classroom delivery.
• BAS Technical Experience: 5+ years with multiple OEM systems; 5+ years with Tridium preferred.
• Articulate: strong writing, communication and facilitation skills.
• Comfortable teaching in a nearly 100% remote environment and engaging students.
• Detail-oriented with focus on accuracy and thoroughness.
• Professional with strong ethics and positive attitude.
• Location: must be located in mainland United States.
• Time management: balance content production (60%) and teaching (40%).

Responsibilities

• Deliver web-based learning sessions (synchronous and asynchronous).
• Run weekly office hours for current students.
• Facilitate learning of advanced materials and systems.
• Develop subject matter expertise and create learning materials using ILDP.
• Measure training results and recommend improvements.
• Provide feedback to students on understanding and performance.
• Update delivery and coaching skills with new technologies.
• Assist customers with training needs and documentation.
• Collaborate with design and development to create learning solutions.
• Maintain and upgrade lab equipment list used in training.
• Produce podcast episodes per instructor schedule.
